President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the reconstituted armed forces council to consider matters of security concerns in the country.
The council was inaugurated at a meeting held behind closed doors at the presidential villa on Thursday.
Speaking to state house correspondents after the meeting, minister of defence masur dan-ali said the armed forces council is to among other things consider the ratification of the national defence policy 20i7 and the harmonised terms and conditions of service officers
The Defence Minister expressed optimism that the ratification of all instruments that seek to improve the welfare of service men will enable the armed forces cope with contemporary security challenges.
The armed forces council was established by cap a20 of laws of the federation of Nigeria.
The council held its last meeting on July 17, 2014 during the administration of former president.
