Eid-el-Kabir: Council chairman urges residents to pray for Nigeria


Mr Abdullahi Candido, the Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC),  has urged residents of the area to use this Sallah period to pray for Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari.

The chairman made this call in a statement made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dayo Lawal, on Friday in Abuja.

He implored Nigerians to embrace peace and unity as well as cautioned them against hate speeches and remarks, capable of causing disaffection.

“I want the residents of this area council to use this period for a special prayer for the nation and of course for the president of the country,” he said.

The council chairman urged the residents to shun any form of disaffection in order to avoid violence and allow peace to reign in the country.

Candido also called on all Nigerians to be more united than ever before to enable the country resolve all the issues at stake,” he said.

On the recent flood disasters in Abuja, Candido cautioned residents of the area against dumping of refuse on waterways and sewage.

He said the residents should observe this caution seriously so as to avoid similar situation of flooding in other communities. (NAN)
