An Islamic Cleric, Alhaji Mufutau Abdulrasaq has called on Muslims to remember those in need and provide succour to them during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Abdulrasaq, who is the Chief Imam of Ore Olohun Mosque, Olunlade in Ilorin made the call on Wednesday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The Imam said Muslims must give out to the needy and avoid selfishness so as to earn bountiful reward from Allah.
“It is good to remember your neighbours that are less privileged. Almighty Allah is happy with cheerful givers and will surely reward them as promised.
“A good Muslim must not be selfish, share with them your ram and even food for them not to feel rejected. You can give them anything either money or cloth even before the festival for them to prepare for the Sallah.
“Don’t go about broadcasting what you give to neighbours, give with free mind, don’t let anybody know what you have done,” the Imam said.
Abdulrasaq also advised Muslims not to discriminate against anybody in doing good and always pray for the country. (NAN)
