The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday voiced its determination to broker peace in the face-off between the Senate and the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, retired Col. Hameed Ali.
The party, in a statement yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, said its national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, would lead a peace mission to the leadership of the National Assembly and the concerned party member.
The party expressed confidence that its effort to broker peace would resolve the matter amicably.
“We have watched the issues with growing concern and the expectation that it would be resolved in a manner that would be agreeable to all the parties involved. However, we wish to state that at this point, we have found it necessary to intervene,” the statement said.
