Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who served as Minister of State for Defence under former President Goodluck Jonathan has dissociated himself from media reports that he had finally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the governing All Progressive Congress, APC.

Obanikoro took to his Facebook page to announce this on Tuesday. He said his presence at the town hall meeting organised by Senator Oluremi Tinubu was to express support for the good work of the lawmaker representing him at the Senate.

“As a Constituent of Lagos Central Senatorial District, I today attended Sen. Remi Tinubu’s Townhall Meeting to support her good work.

“I commend Sen. Remi Tinubu once again as I continue to consult with my political associates and friends in Lagos, and also across Nigeria,” Obanikoro stressed.

He noted that his attendance at the event has been insinuated wrongly in the media, saying all such speculations remain firmly in the realm of rumours and imaginations.

The former minister disclosed that whatever the future holds politically for him and supporters will be “openly done by us and seen by all.”

Obanikoro appealed to the public to disregard those rumours.
