Kenya and Tanzania have signed a deal to construct a gas pipeline between the port cities of Mombasa in Kenya and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Samia Suluhu Hassan made the announcement after holding talks at State House in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, aimed at improving relations between the neighbours.

The two heads of state also revealed that they discussed the removal of unfair trade tariffs to boost cross-border trade, as well as strengthening road, rail, air and sea transport.
